SIF 3 Training Course – Melbourne – November 2018

Ahead of the SIF AU Community Day in Melbourne, Systemic provided a 2-day SIF3 Framework Training course. This course had two facets; one to train developers new to SIF and a second facet to provide a refresh to developers that had some previous experience in SIF. While the new developers were mainly trained in the usage of the SIF3 Frameworks (Java & .Net) the more experienced developers could concentrate on the implementation of new AU use-cases such as the Financial Questionnaire from the Australian Government.

 

SIF 3  and HostedZone SIF Broker Training for the Department of Education Queensland – Brisbane – July 2018

This three day training course was specifically provided for and tailored to the Department of Education  and Training Queensland (DET Qld). The training was divided into two parts.

2-Day SIF3 Framework Training (.Net)

Provided developers the training in the usage of the .Net (C#) version of the SIF3 Framework. A Connect-A-Thon on the second day enabled developers to connect their SIF3 Adapter to not only HITS but also to the HostedZone SIF3 Broker.

1-Day HostedZone (SIF3 Broker) Training

This course trained DET Qld staff in the efficient usage of the HostedZone Broker Admin Console. Further best practices were highlighted to showcase how hundreds of schools and vendors with their applications can be managed in the most effective manner. This guidance provided DET Qld with the tools to setup their instance of the HostedZone Broker for their SIF3 Hub pilot.

 

SIF 3 Training for Lower Hudson RIC Staff – Mamaroneck, New York, USA – March 2018

This one-day training course was targeted to train up new staff at the Lower Hudson RIC as well as provide existing staff a brush up on new features of the SIF3 Framework. The follow-on workshop allowed to set the road-map of new functionality for the SIF3 Framework.

 

SIF 3 Training Course – Melbourne – November 2017

In parallel to the SIF AU Community day a two-day SIF3 training (Java & .Net) course was conducted. This course was geared to developers new to SIF and related frameworks but also to developers already familiar with the SIF3 Frameworks. This course proved highly popular with DET Victoria who was in the process to setup a road-map for their SIF journey, specifically for their EduHub initiative that includes a SIF3 Hub.

 

SIF 3 Training Course – Perth- June 2017

A two day training course for SIF3 beginners  and the usage of the hugely popular open-source SIF3 Frameworks (Java & .Net) was held in Perth. It was attended by a number of software developers from various vendors as well as business analysts and project managers from the WA Education Department. The advanced sessions and Connect-a-Thon highlighted the easy use of the frameworks and how quickly a consumer can connect to HITS as the provider.

SIF 3 Training Course – Melbourne – June 2016

Another successful two day training was conducted in Melbourne. This was our most popular “Introduction to the SIF3 Frameworks” course which was attended by a number of vendors and Education Departments. The advanced sessions and Connect-a-Thon highlighted the easy use of the frameworks and how quickly a consumer can connect to any provider. This time we used HITS as the provider and participants developed a small consumer to connect to it.

 

SIF 3 Vendor Training for RicOne API – Albany, New York, USA – February 2016

This one day training course focused on the RicOne API consumers for various vendors and RICs that intend to consume data (SIF xPress) from the RicOne API. Participants were trained in using the Java and .Net version of the SIF3 Frameworks and how to use them to implement a RicOne data consumer.

 

SIF 3 Provider Training – Washington DC, USA – February 2016

This one day training course focused on implementing SIF 3.x Providers using the Java and .Net SIF3 Framework. This course was held as part of the SIF Annual End-User Conference in Washington DC. The participants ranged from developers, architects to project managers. Subjects relating to SIF xPress implementations all the way to enterprise level implementations were covered as part of this training.

 

SIF 3 Training Course – Melbourne – September 2015

This two day training course predominantly train developers from the  Catholic Education Office (CEO) in Melbourne and vendors that consume content from the ICON project in the usage of the SIF3 Framework (Java & .Net). These frameworks will be used to implement the ICON Integration Hub (providers) and vendors that consume data from ICON (consumers).

 

ICON Technical Workshop – Melbourne- June 2015

A two day SIF 3 workshop for the Catholic Education Office (CEO) in Melbourne and their ICON project took place in June 2015. During that workshop the core architecture of the ICON Integration Hub was worked on and finally agreed upon. Many vendors who provide content into ICON participated in that workshop to ensure that their products will align with the ICON architecture.

 

SIF 3 Technical Workshop – Perth – April 2015

A three day SIF 3 Workshop and Training course has been held in Perth in April 2014. The three days consisted of a day and a half of training in the SIF3 Frameworks (Java & .Net). A wide range of vendors from Western Australia and Victoria participated in this training course and the follow-up workshops. The workshops on the remainder of the three days included specific topics such as Broker, Events etc. Finally the participants connected their SIF3 Consumers to a variety of SIF3 Providers that have been deployed on Amazon or Azure clouds.

 

SIF 3 Technical Workshop – Melbourne – November 2014

A two day SIF 3 Workshop has been held in Melbourne in late November 2014. This two days consisted of a full 1 day training course in the usage of the SIF3 Frameworks (Java & .Net). After day one the participants have tried their gained knowledge and applied it to conduct a small “connect-a-thon”. Also on day two some small workshops were held covering topics such as “SIF3 Broker”, “Scalability” etc.

 

SIF 3 Technical Workshop – Albany, New York, USA – October 2014

As a follow-up to the SIF International Developer Conference, we conducted a two day SIF 3 Workshop for the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center (LHRIC) in Albany, New York. This workshop included a one day training course in the Java version of the SIF3 Framework and a one day design and architecture workshop for SIF 3 Service design, architecture and deployment.

 

SIF 3 International Developer Camp – Dallas, TX, USA – October 2014

Our staff provided a condensed half-day training course on the SIF3 Frameworks during the annual SIF International Developer Camp in Dallas, Texas in October 2014. This very successful training enabled Java & .Net developers to get a first hand experience in the usage of the SIF3 Frameworks which culminated in a “connect-a-thon”.

 

SIF 3 Technical Workshop using SIF3 Frameworks (Java & .Net) – DEC NSW (Sydney) – September 2014

This SIF 3 Technical Workshop was held in Sydney at the Department of Education & Communities, NSW, on September 2 and 3, 2014. This was the first workshop focused around the new SIF3 Framework. With versions for both Java and .NET, the workshops enabled developers to become familiar with the framework and through a series of exercises consume and provide SIF data over XML – culminating in a connect-a-thon. There was keen interest in the new SIF3 Framework and the workshop was well attended; with both government department, (NSW and ACARA), and various vendor participants involved.

 

SIF 3 Development Training Course – IDEA13 at the MCG (Melbourne) – November 2013

This was the first training course in Australia that was purely focused on SIF 3 Technologies. It covered the SIF 3 Concepts as well as giving participants hands-on experience in developing SIF 3 Services using REST and XML.

 

SIF Agent Development Bootcamp and SIS Baseline Profile (SBP) Connect-A-Thon in Melbourne 2011

Bootcamp – Our Staff ran this hands-on SIF AU agent development training seminar. Over two and a half days participants were able to work with experienced SIF developers to design and build their own SIF AU agent. Participants received examples, demos and open source to take away, and had access to fully operational SIF infrastructure and were able to test agents against a zone infrastructure.

 

SIS Profile Baseline Connect-A-Thon

In parallel to the Bootcamp, we run a SBP Connect-A-Thon. Over two day the participants were able to run exercises with their SIS/LMS or any other school admin systems and connect them to other participants systems using the SBP Agent Framework. They received help from experienced SIF Developers (Joerg Huber & Rafidzal Rafiq) in designing, implementing and deploying their SBP ‘compliant’ agents.

SIF Agent Development Bootcamp in Melbourne 2010

In 2010 our staff, Pearson Data Solutions (US) and RM Asia Pacific ran a SIF Agent Development Bootcamp as part of the IDEA Conference in Melbourne. This was a two and a half day workshop providing the participants with guidance and support, provided by some of the industry’s best developers, to design, build, demonstrate and test the participant’s own SIF AU agent.
